There will be some special classes held for Junior students in the last two weeks of the school holidays.
There will be two types of class, general and sparring.
The general class will go over the usual things we would do in a normal kung fu class. It is a great way to refresh your memory after the break, also a good opportunity to get a head start on preparing for the grading in March.
The sparring class will focus specifically on introducing students to sparring in a safe environment. There will be partnered drills to gradually build a skill base for free sparring. The sparring for junior students is light contact (participants are penalized for contact which is too hard) and all students must have appropriate protective gear to participate in sparring. These classes will be great preparation for the tournament at the end of March and are also a lot of FUN! Students must be orange tip or above to attend the sparring sessions.
Required protective gear is available from the Northshore Kung Fu and Qigong Health Centre, you can find prices here If you are planning to participate in sparring, I recommend you contact me about protective equipment at least a week before classes so that I can make sure I have the right sized gear available for you.
